most of the time, anip-chan get so hard to sleep. he can never close his eyes under 10 pm. but he loves stories, so I usually made-up one or two stories to help him close his eyes. this is one of them.I used to tell him about this Rabbit in a hopping rhyme or just sing it while we cuddle in bed..he likes it so much 🙂

Remy the Rabbit

Remy the rabbit…hop hop
Remy the rabbit…hop hop
He likes to jump in a row, row
Now he face one pretty wall
And when he stop his foot goes bump bump blow

He watch the frame hang on pretty wall
“Who is that,” He said, “Watching me back and stall”
He move his face closer to the wall
Remy the rabbit roll his eyeballs

“ah!” Now he screams, that thing is moving too
It has this two eyes, one rounded mouth, and a nose
Keep staring curiously
Remy the rabbit, don’t you know it’s a cute little kiddo?
“Haa….i see that now. He is cute indeed” Remy blushed
The kid watch him closely

“So kiddo, who are you? What’s your name?” Remy ask
“My name is Hanif….I am six” He reply
“I am Remy…I am a rabbit” Remy smiles
“Why are you living in the wall?”
“Because I come to where you call”

Wait, Remy! That’s not your part. Why don’t you ask him to play instead?
“Ehm…would you like to play, six years old Hanif?”
“Only if you tell me what you really are..”
“I…am…a…” Remy paused. He shakes his tail, “brrr…”
“I..am……………….”  Remy lower his voice
Hanif the kid put his ears closer and closer and closer and closer on
“I am a………….Dream Rabbit!” Remy the rabbit sing his answer in a tenor  “Sssstttt….” He put his finger in his mouth

Hanif stunned, he raise his eyebrows in confusion…
“Do you wanna play?” Remy tickle
“We can build anything you want, go anywhere you want, do anything you like, and hundreds more!” His eyes are blast in shine
“Wow, is it true?! It sounds like fun! I wanna play, I wanna play, Remy!”
“Sure! Let’s play! Do you know how? You had to get out of that frame first, Hanif”
“How, how? O tell me how now, Remy. I wanna play!”
Remy giggles…”So Hanif, close your eyes now. Go to sleep, then i meet you in your dream. That’s how the dream rabbit works” Now he grin

So there’s Remy the rabbit sing, hop and dwell
From within the wall Hanif stare
Remy has come to let Hanif enjoy his dream well
Only because hanif scare

Then Hanif can close his eyes and sleep
He knows Remy will there to make him smile
Go to sleep now, Hanif dearie. sleep well, dream well….

Remy Kelinci

Remy kelinci…hop hop
Remy kelinci…hop hop
Lompat kesana kemari….remy kelinci
Lalu dia tiba. Satu dinding ceria
Waktu dia berhenti kakinya berbunyi
Bam di bam di bum

Remy kelinci diam berdiri
Didepannya foto berbingkai
“Siapa dia?” Katanya, “Dia memandangku!”
Remy maju sedikit, bola matanya membulat bingung

“Ah!” Sekarang Remy teriak, makhluk itu bergerak juga
Matanya dua, mulutnya bundar dan hidungnya lucu
Masih memandangnya bingung
Remy kelinci, tak tahukah kamu. Itu adalah anak kecil yang lucu
“Haa…aku tahu sekarang. Dia memang lucu” Katanya malu-malu
Anak itu memandangnya bingung

“Jadi nak, siapa namamu?” Tanya Remy
“Namaku Hanif….Umurku enam tahun” Jawabnya, ah dia memang lucu
“Aku Remy….dan aku seekor kelinci” Remy menggoyang-goyang ekor bulatnya
“Kenapa kamu tinggal di dinding?”
“Karena disinilah kamu memanggilku. Bunyinya ding…ding…”

Eits, tunggu Remy! Jangan bilang padanya, kenapa tidak kau ajak dia main saja?
“Maukah kamu main denganku, hai Hanif yang umurnya enam tahun?”
“Kasih tahu dulu, kamu itu apa?”
“Wah…aku………hmm…..aku….”  Remy diam, lalu buntutnya bergoyang lagi “Brrrrr…”
“Aku……” Remy memelankan suaranya
Hanif kecil mendorong telinganya lebih dekat…lebih dekat…..lebih dekat…dan lebih dekat lagi…
“Aku adalah…….Remy si Kelinci Mimpi!” Remy kelinci menyanyikan jawabannya dengan suara tinggi “Ssssstttt….” Lalu menaruh telunjuknya di bibir

Hanif terdiam, alisnya naik tinggi-tinggi
“Main yuk?” Goda Remy “Kita bisa membuat apa saja yang kamu mau, pergi kemana kamu mau, main apa saja yang kamu suka, dan melakukan ratusan hal asyik lainnya!” Matanya berkilat-kilat jenaka
“Wow, benarkah?! Kedengarannya asyik sekali! Aku mau main, aku mau main, Remy!”
“Tentu! Ayo kita main! Tahukah kamu bagaimana caranya? Pertama-tama, kamu harus keluar dulu dari bingkai itu, Hanif”
“Ah, bagaimana, bagaimana? Ayo katakan bagaimana caranya, Remy. Aku mau main!”
Remy tertawa kecil..”Jadi Hanif, tutup matamu. Tidurlah, lalu kita ketemu dalam mimpimu. Begitulah cara kami, kelinci mimpi, bekerja.”

Begitulah, Remy si Kelinci Mimpi datang melompat dan bernyanyi
Dari balik dinding hanif memandang
Jangan takut lagi Hanif
Remy ada disini, dia akan membuat indah semua mimpi

Lalu Hanif menutup matanya pelan-pelan dan tertidur
Hanif tahu Remy akan membuatnya tersenyum
Ayo tidur yang nyenyak Hanif sayang, dan mimpi yang indah…

Of course, anip-chan gets the story right away and I do improvise a lot. It’s actually about saying or singing it with most entertaining voice or ambiance. Anyway, that’s how storytelling is about right? 😉
