Keuken #2: Flavorsome Intimacy

Keuken (not sure how to spell it..hihi) is a brand for food. Seriously….Ung, actually Keuken is a brand for event held in attemp to reclaim the street (their tagline). How? By having our wonderful picnic, gather with friends and yes..reclaim the street.

This one is the second event. Too bad I missed the first that held in the very street of Braga. Must be fun. Anyway, the second event held around Saparua Park near jalan Riau. A spot hard to miss. Even before the event start, people has already hype about it. The first teaser showing Keuken #2 featured entrepeneur just can’t get the crowd waiting any longer. Beside the usual Cooking Show, there are also DJs, Music Stage, Art Show, Workshop by OYHS and a line of worth tasting popular aficionado. Among them is Juicide, Mie Merapi, Happy go Lucky Dessert, Happy Cow Steak, Kuma Ramen, Risoles Melepuh, MeCow, and many many other.

We got there by two, immediately grab a hand of Chicken dish from Happy go Lucky..find a spot to eat..then..sadly, it’s start raining. Before the rain, there were several picnic spot using traditional tikar by the street side..and everybody enjoy that. Too bad the rain make it impossible to use the spot again. Rain does stop a while later, but then starts again..and keep raining until dark. Amazingly, crowd never stop coming making it almost impossible to just even walk around. The event continue successfully to almost midnight with following showcase (i don’t really remember all, but these are my favorite 🙂 )

– Live Cooking by great great Chefs! Among them are Tita Larasati, Shinta, Ridwan Kamil, Kungfu Chef, Leon fr Legoh, Acong, Nobie Bottlesmoker, Ipin fr UNKL, and other fab chefs.

– Macaroon cooking demo

– Tye Dye Apron Workshop by OYHS

– Freeze-mob by Urban Jedi

– And my always favorite liveshow: Live Painting by The Yellow Dino, Tell Them, Bedlam.
